First Comes Love...

I was reminded, the other day, of the saying, "first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage." It's a cute saying, but this is really how people think life is supposed to happen. Well, sadly nowadays it's find love, live together, have kids and then maybe get married. But the point is this has become the equation for life, like this is what your life should look like.

When I picture my future I automatically assume I'm going to be married and it will be a gorgeous wedding and then I will have adorable children, a few of which will be adopted, and then my life will be complete.

But that is totally false. My life was complete when I accepted Christ as my savior. First came His love. His love to choose me and adopt me as His child, and then that's it. Now I have purpose and now my life should be about Him. And now all the other earthly equations or "this is how it's supposed to be" don't define my life.

The whole purpose of a relationship or marriage is to help you serve Christ even better than you can on your own.

Basically, life as a Christian is complete and has purpose whether or not marriage and the baby carriage are a part of it. We can't wait around for the next "step" in our lives we have to live it day by day with the end goal in mind.

First came His love, and that's all we need.
